On December 16, Dominion Energy filed a request with the Virginia State Corporation Commission (SCC) asking that all public comments submitted by Stafford County residents be removed from the Golden–Mars case record.
The request follows a growing volume of public participation from residents concerned about the proposed Golden–Mars project and the related Kraken Loop 500-kilovolt transmission line. Public comments submitted to the SCC become part of the official case record and are reviewed by the Commission during its deliberations.
On December 17, 2026, attorney Bryan Turner, a legal advocate retained for transmission-line mitigation, filed a response with the SCC opposing Dominion’s request. Mr. Turner is widely known for representing respondents in the Mars-to-Golden proceeding, including LVE1 and the HOA Roundtable.
In his filing, Mr. Turner argues that comments from Stafford County residents are relevant to the proceeding and should remain part of the public record. The response emphasizes the importance of public participation and asserts that affected communities have a legitimate interest in the Commission’s review of the project.
The SCC has not yet issued a ruling on Dominion’s request.
